A round-up of 2021 from Lou Collins Author

A round-up of 2021

1 December 2021

NaNoWriMo 2021 is over, and I didn’t reach 50k this year though I wasn’t seriously trying this time. I have over 30k words of my new cozy series and it’s a lot of fun to write with plenty of humour. I’m excited to see what 2022 will bring.

1 November 2021

It’s that time of year again! NaNoWriMo 2021 began today across the globe and writer’s new and old committed to trying to write 50k words in November. I started writing a brand new project in a brand new series. It’s a Cozy series, set in Essex, England, where I’ve lived all my life. Day 1 went well and I’m 1,771 words closer to the target than yesterday.

28 September 2021

The Scolaris short mystery that I’ve been working on, The Death of Hope, is ready for the world! It’s Book 0.5 in the series that will begin with The Death of Knowledge, which is undergoing final tweaks. This mystery will only be available to subscribers on my mailing list. So if you want it, you’ll need to subscribe!

15 June 2021

So excited to report that The Death of Knowledge, my debut novel, is ready for my Collaborators (my VIP readers) to read and give feedback. Look out for pre-order details shortly.

23 April 2021

Lockdown is easing and today I have completed a second round of rewrites. I did this round by hand so now I need to transfer the edits to the electronic version of the manuscript. I’ve also been tuning in to Crime Writer’s Week this week which has been fascinating.

27 February 2021

The first big read through is complete and I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s not total garbage 🚮. I’ve identified a few missing elements and next week will write those in and fix some errors.

23 January 2021

I have finished the first draft of my first book!

I just need to finish a sub-plot or two and then move on to editing.
